THE following Regulations, made by His Majesty's Minister, and hereby declared to be urgent, are published for general information.

KING'S REGULATIONS MADE UNDER ARTICLE 209 OF "THE CHINA ORDER IN COUNCIL, 1925.”

No. 1 of 1928.

China Ports Amendment Regulations.

1. Section 7 of each of the following King's Regulations, namely:-

"The Tientsin Consular District General Regulations, 1913 "; "The Chefoo Consular District General Regulations, 1913 "; "The Hangchow Consular District General Regulations, 1913"; "The Ningpo and Wenchow Consular District General Regula-

tions, 1913":

"The Newchwang Consular District General Regulations, 1913";

The Ichang Consular District General Regulations, 1913 "; "The Foochow Consular District General Regulations, 1913";

"The Nanking Consular District General Regulations, 1913"; "The Kiukiang Consular District General Regulations, 1913"; "The Wuhu Consular District General Regulations, 1913"; "The Changsha Consular District General Regulations, 1913"; "The Hankow Consular District General Regulations, 1914 "; "The Chinkiang Consular District General Regulations, 1914"; "The Canton Consular District General Regulations, 1915 "; "The Wuchow Consular District General Regulations, 1915 The Shanghai Consular District General Regulations, 1915 "The Tsingtao Consular District General Regulations, 1923 is hereby amended by the addition thereto of the following proviso:---

Provided that nothing in these Regulations shall affect the right of the Secretary of State to direct that British protection shall not be accorded to a vessel, even though it has received a British certificate of registry, and that a Consular certificate under these Regulations shall not be issued in relation to such a vessel.

2. These Regulations may be cited as "The China Ports Amend- ment Regulations, 1928."

The Colonial Secretary of Hong Kong presents

his compliments to the Under Secretary of State for the

Colonies, London, and with reference to the Secretary of

State's despatch No. 327 of the 17th of December, 1929,

forwarding copies of the King's Regulations on the subject

of the navigation of Chinese inland waters by vessels

wearing British colours, is directed to inform him that the

copies of the Regulations mentioned in the schedule annexed

have as yet not been received.

It is requested that he will be so good as to

expedite the despatch to this Government of the copies not

forwarded.
